Episode #1 – Barrel House Birthdays: Will Shade (Memphis Jug Band) – Born February 5, 1898 (Memphis, Tennessee)

Will Shade and a church lady

Happy Birthday Will Shade!  Born in Memphis, Tennessee on Feb. 5, 1898.

Welcome to Episode #1 of Barrelhouse Birthdays.  In this series we will play some tunes and give a short history on each of the blues artists on their birthday.  We hope you enjoy it.  This is just an excuse for me to play more blues on the show and read some history.  That way, Kier (significant other) doesn’t have to be the subject of these various historical ear beatings that I give her with facts that she already knows by default.

Episode #30 of ‘Dancefloor Mountain Radio’ will be released in a day or two.  See you then.  It’s over 2 hours long!

Approximate running time of this podcast is 25 min.

1) K.C. Moan
2) It Won’t Act Right
3) Aunt Caroline Dyer Blues
4) She Stabbed Me With An Ice Pick
5) Stealin’
6) On The Road Again
